Title: Blockchain miners’ risk management

Abstract: A blockchain is a decentralized data ledger maintained by achieving consensus inside a peer-to-peer network. The operational cost associated to the consensus mechanism is borne by the node of the blockchain network and must be compensated by a reward. Insurance risk models are revisited in this context to study the profit and loss distribution of the nodes, referred to as miners in blockchains equipped with the proof-of-work protocol (used in the bitcoin blockchain for instance).
