Prof. Tomoyuki Ichiba receives a new NSF grant for research on "Large-Scale Interactions in Financial Markets"

Professor Tomoyuki Ichiba was recently awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSFa grant for the research project "Large-Scale Interactions in Financial Markets" in the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS).  This will be a 3-year project for 2020-2023.

One of the essential roles of the global financial markets is to create future investment opportunities and to meet various needs from real economic activities, where participants in the financial markets interact both locally and globally through trades. The focus of this project is to model and understand the dependence structures generated by such interactions among market participants by the system of nonlinear stochastic differential equations of mean-field type and of directed interactions.
